Speaking/Storytelling/Keynotes
Presence
When I work with you, you’ll get my full attention and focus. It’s rare to have someone truly listen to everything you’re saying (and not saying), from your words to your embodied experience. I am fully present to your challenges, successes, hopes, and fears.
One of my group coaching clients says this: “Trystan delivered a thoughtful and organized process that moved us from feeling both wounded and full of shame into a space of reflection and healing so that we were then able to receive the community’s feedback and fully it integrate into our lives and our organization.”
Practicality
This is not therapy. I hope you have an actual therapist for that. This is full-on planning mode. Where do you want to be, where are you now, and what is getting in the way. I’ll give you concrete tools to get from here to there while removing barriers internal and external as we go.
One of my coaching clients says this: “Our coaching sessions gave me the skills and the confidence to lead my team through a difficult season while working toward changing our policies, procedures and expectations in order to build an inclusive, anti-oppressive work culture.”
Perspective
I can’t help it— I want you to thrive. No, that’s not right… I want you to be WILDLY successful. To make all the change in the world while living a life that empowers you to keep making change for a very long time.
One of my coaching clients says this: “Trystan is kind, but not at all acquiescent--he firmly holds the space for growth, but without judgment.”
Trystan is a 2021 Lambda Literary Emerging LGBTQ Voices Fellow and the solo author of How We Do Family, a memoir described as “a refreshing new take on family life for the LGBTQ community and beyond.” He also co-wrote a children’s book with his partner, Biff. It’s called The Light Of You and was published by Flamingo Rampant Press. Trystan is an essayist whose work is currently being housed on Substack. His contributions to academic research can be found here.
How We Do Family
My first full-length book will be released on June 8th. Drag superstar Willam Belli says, “You’ll learn stuff, but you’ll like it.” New York Times Best-Selling author Andrew Solomon says, “Trystan Reese writes with great tenderness and compassion, and also with a well-considered agenda of political and social activism.”
The Mindful masculinity workbook
I wrote an essay about becoming a man, something I never wanted to do, in this beautiful, practical guide to creating positive relationships with masculinity.
Weird parenting wins
I wrote several parenting anecdotes for this fun book dedicated to all the strange parent hacks people have come up with along their family-building and kid-raising journeys.
