Trystan is genuine and funny, and presents in a manner that cuts across human differences and appeals to everyone. The presentation was well organized, on-point, and relatable. I would be hard pressed to give a stronger recommendation to anyone, because Trystan is just terrific! We were able to work together when I was on staff at Basic Rights Oregon, and would regularly co-facilitate Fair Workplace Project trainings, which focused on trans inclusion in the workplace. We trained to a wide range of audiences, such as staff at a Portland agency serving people experiencing homelessness, attendees at an American Federation of Teachers conference, employees of several Oregon school districts, and even a tech startup in the heart of downtown Portland. Trystan is a gifted facilitator, able to introduce big concepts in ways that are accessible to any audience. He is a professional who puts great thought and care into knowing his content and refining what works and what needs changing. While there are many consultants who can be trained on a scripted presentation, Trystan stands apart in how he is comfortable sharing from his own experience, and how he can adapt on the spot to unplanned for needs of any audience. No one would leave a training where Trystan is facilitating feeling embarrassed for not knowing, because Trystan meets people where they are at. Again, I couldn't offer a stronger recommendation for Trystan as a trainer to literally any group of people, no matter their level of prior experience, who are in need of a little boost in their trans competency.

Trystan is an absolutely inspiring facilitator, and brought incomparable energy to a room filled with future clinicians and medical students. From the very first contact Trystan facilitated a seamless organization process, and was nothing but timely and amenable in all communications between the collective of Columbia University staff, and students that came together in the planning of our event “The Pregnant Man: Living at the Intersection of Trans Identities and Reproductive Justice.” Students, faculty, as well as community members in attendance were completely captivated by Trystan’s humor, sensitivity and profound knowledge on the subject of sensitivity in LGBTQ health, and when discussing his experiences when encountering healthcare professionals during his pregnancy. He imparted imperative wisdom on all of us, and left us enthused to continue our education, as well as continue to push for the inclusion of sensitive, affirmative and evidence based care for the LGBTQ and particularly trans community.

Trystan delivered one of the best conference keynotes I've ever heard -- enlightening, smart, funny, poignant - and radically informative. He managed to teach and provoke new perspectives, without any tone of judgement for attendees who did not yet know the facts and insights he shared. We are all subject to the ignorance of our culture, and yet some, like Trystan, challenge and forge a new path. With love and creativity, Trystan shared with a crowd of 550+, the most compelling journey. And bonus points for arriving early for keynote and having a flawless PowerPoint to add the best mix of story and science.

Our organization recognized a need for training in order to be more supportive and understanding of our trans employees and consumers. Trystan did a phenomenal job with creating a safe and welcoming environment in which all who attended felt comfortable asking questions and engaging in the conversation. He captivated the audience and made the 90 mins fly by. Trystan started with the basics so that everyone had a shared understanding and steered clear of using jargon so that people weren't overwhelmed. I've received countless messages from our team expressing how valuable it was to have Trystan come and how we need to do another training with a broader population. I cannot thank Trystan enough for taking the time to speak with Cambia.

Trystan is fantastic. We brought him to Harry's to do LGBTQA+ sensitivity training ahead of a large-scale Pride initiative we were doing. His ability to take somewhat lofty ideas and relate them to both his personal experience and the way we all move in the world was just superb. He's a natural storyteller, made everyone feel comfortable being open and honest in the room, and left us with actionable steps we could apply both internally at Harry's and when interacting with customers.

I could not recommend Trystan more highly. Trystan came to our university this spring. He went above and beyond to meet all of our students, spending time with them individually and being his true self, authentic, genuine, vulnerable, truthful and kind. Trystan also spoke more formally in front of an audience of over 100 people. For over 90 minutes, he had each participant at the edge of their seat, attentive, engaged and enraptured. The audience laughed and cried and loved everything about Trystan and his story. The feedback forms were overwhelmingly favorable, several saying Trystan was the best speaker they had seen on campus. I am so thankful to Trystan for coming and speaking with us at Monmouth. We are hoping he can come back again soon.

Trystan has provided Lewis & Clark Law School with two fabulous trans legal issues workshops! Both students and faculty were absolutely enthralled with his presentation, and we have received nothing but glowing reviews from everyone in attendance.

Not only was Trystan’s presentation accessible for folks new to the issues, it was also engaging and refreshing for students and faculty who attended the first workshop he produced for us. In fact, faculty and staff were so impressed with the program, they immediately inquired as to the possibly of Trystan providing more trainings!

How can I say this? Trystan is incredible - amazing. I think his training was one of the absolute best we’ve ever had at the office. I just spoke with a staff member who told me the same thing: “That was the best brown bag I ever attended. He should do more!”
