Trystan Reese will be presenting his unique parenting story live for the Monmouth University community on April 30, 2019. He will be focusing on his experiences as a transgender man who became a parent overnight to his partner’s niece and nephew, helping them avoid going into foster care and leaving their family connections behind. He will also be discussing his decision to tell his trans pregnancy story publicly, which thrust his family into the international spotlight– reminding him and the world that rigid ideas of gender are still the norm across the globe.

  2. Identify examples of transphobia (overt and covert) faced by trans and gender non-conforming communities

  3. Name common challenges faced by LGBTQ families
