From Parent to Baller

Before we became parents we were living in a super swanky apartment in Hollywood, California. We’d put on our trendy outfits, go out on cute dates followed by late-night drinks and dancing, only to return home and sleep until 1pm the next day. We’d awake looking young and refreshed. Having kids brought all of this to a grinding, abrupt halt.

Any parent will tell you that having kids often means the slow death of beauty and style. It’s the reason we’ve refused to get a mini-van (no offense to our soccer moms out there). But every time we’re in a mini-van with the kids it feels so luxurious. It’s spacious. The kids actually enjoy riding in the car. And so we felt like maybe a mini-van was just one of those inevitable parts of parenting… until recently. Parent desperately grasping at their few opportunities to be stylish and cool: meet the 2019 Chevy Blazer.

We recently took this car on a road trip to the Washington State Fair. When we first saw the car we were taken back by how handsome it is. We quickly realized that it wasn’t just a pretty car. It was a good family car. It checked a lot of the more “practical” boxes for us:

    • 19/26mpg on the freeway

    • 7 airbags for extra safety

    • HD rear vision camera

    • StabiliTrak electronic stability control system (perfect for wet, slippery climates)

    • Super spacious with an extra 64 cubic feet of cargo space

Needless to say, this car is perfect for a family our size. Our road trip was a fun adventure marked by sing-alongs, a swanky hotel and the cheesy thrill of carnival rides and funnel cakes. But for us, the parents, the best part was feeling like a baller behind the wheel of a 2019 Chevy Blazer.
